What is Dualtron South Africa?

The official online destination for Dualtron electric scooters in South Africa, featuring a full product catalog, dealer information, and partnership opportunities.

What is the launch pre-order special?

To celebrate our South African launch, every model in the range is 10% off when you pre-order before 9 October 2026. You secure your unit with just a 20% refundable deposit and pay the balance when stock arrives on 15 October 2026. The discount is applied automatically at checkout — no coupon needed.

How do I place a pre-order?

Open any scooter on the Scooters page and tap the Pre-Order button, then fill in your details and quantity. You can also add models to your cart and check out normally — either way your reservation is logged and our team will contact you within 48 hours to confirm and arrange the deposit.

How much do I pay now and when is the balance due?

You pay a 20% deposit of the discounted price to secure your unit. Nothing else is due until your scooter lands on 15 October 2026, at which point our team contacts you to settle the remaining 80% before collection or delivery. No online payment is required at the time of pre-ordering.

Is my deposit refundable?

Yes. Your 20% deposit is fully refundable at any time before stock arrives. If you change your mind, contact us and we will refund your deposit in full. Once your scooter is ready and you proceed, the deposit is credited toward your final balance.

When will my scooter be delivered?

All pre-order units arrive on 15 October 2026. After that date we will arrange collection from your nearest dealer, or delivery to your address, once your balance is settled. You will receive updates by email as the arrival date approaches.

How should I charge my Dualtron battery to maximise its lifespan?

Use only the original charger supplied with your scooter. Charge in a dry, well-ventilated area at room temperature. For best longevity, avoid letting the battery drop below 20% before charging and avoid leaving it at 100% for extended periods. A partial charge between 20–80% reduces stress on the cells.

How should I store my scooter if I'm not riding it for a while?

If you won't ride for more than a few weeks, charge the battery to roughly 50–60% and store the scooter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Check the charge every 4–6 weeks and top up to 50% if it has dropped. Never store a fully discharged battery — this causes permanent capacity loss.

What temperature range is safe for the battery?

Lithium-ion batteries perform best between 10°C and 35°C. Avoid charging or storing the scooter in freezing conditions or extreme heat (above 45°C), such as inside a parked car in summer. Cold temperatures temporarily reduce range but do not damage the battery; heat degrades it permanently.

How many charge cycles will my battery last?

Dualtron lithium-ion packs are typically rated for 500–800 full charge cycles before reaching approximately 80% of original capacity. A 'full cycle' is one complete discharge and recharge — partial charges add up proportionally, so frequent top-ups are gentler than full drains.

My battery isn't holding charge like it used to — what should I do?

Noticeable range loss may indicate cell degradation or a faulty battery management system (BMS). Stop using the scooter and contact an authorised dealer for a diagnostic assessment. Do not attempt to open, modify or repair the battery yourself — this voids the warranty and is a serious safety risk.

Can I ride my scooter in the rain?

Most Dualtron models carry an IP rating for water resistance, but they are not waterproof. Light rain is generally fine; avoid deep puddles, submersion and high-pressure washing. Water ingress is not covered under warranty, so dry the scooter after wet rides and store it indoors.

What does the warranty cover?

All Dualtron and Rovoron scooters are sold with a manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The frame, motor and controller are typically covered for 12 months, and the battery for 6 months, from the date of purchase. Exact terms vary by model — confirm with your dealer at purchase.

What is NOT covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear (brake pads, tyres, tubes), water or moisture ingress, physical damage from crashes or abuse, unauthorised modifications, use of non-original parts, commercial or rental use, or damage caused by improper charging or storage.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact the authorised dealer where you purchased the scooter, or any dealer in our network, with your proof of purchase. The dealer will assess the fault and submit the claim on your behalf. Do not disassemble the scooter yourself before an assessment, as this may void cover.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the scooter?

The warranty is valid for the original purchaser only and is not transferable. Keep your original invoice or proof of purchase — you will need it for any claim.

What is the battery warranty and how is it measured?

Batteries are covered for 6 months against manufacturing defects. Capacity naturally degrades with use and age; this normal degradation is not considered a defect. A claim requires capacity to drop below 80% within the warranty period, assessed by an authorised dealer.

How fast are Dualtron and Rovoron scooters?

Top speeds range from around 50 km/h on entry-level models to over 100 km/h on flagship dual-motor models such as the Dualtron Victor and Dualtron Thunder. Each model's exact top speed, motor power and battery capacity are listed on its product page.

What range can I expect per charge?

Real-world range varies by model, rider weight, terrain and riding mode. Expect between 60 km and 130 km on a full charge. Use the Range Calculator on each product page to estimate range for your weight and intended use.

How long does it take to charge a scooter?

Standard charging typically takes 4–8 hours from empty to full, depending on battery size and charger. Some flagship models support dual chargers, halving charge time. Fast charging generates more heat — use it sparingly to protect battery life.

What's the difference between single and dual motor models?

Single-motor models are lighter and more efficient — ideal for commuting. Dual-motor models add a second hub motor for roughly double the power, sharper acceleration and better hill-climbing, at the cost of extra weight and reduced range. Choose based on whether you prioritise portability or performance.

Which model is best for my needs?

For city commuting, the Rovoron R5 and Dualtron Togo offer the best balance of range, weight and price. For mixed urban and open-road use, the Rovoron R7 and Dualtron Forever are strong all-rounders. For maximum performance, the flagship dual-motor models deliver the highest speed and power. Contact us for a tailored recommendation.

Are Dualtron and Rovoron scooters street-legal in South Africa?

These are high-performance electric vehicles. Riders must comply with all South African road and traffic laws. We recommend riding on private property or designated areas and wearing appropriate safety gear. Check local by-laws for use in your area.
